We've now been in Egypt for about 10 days. Haven't been blogging due to poor internet connections and really busy seeing a tremendous number of outstanding sights. Now I'm back online in Alexandria and will work at catching up. When I last left the blog, there had been some unrest in Cairo following Mubarek's aquital. Yesterday security at the US Embassy in Cairo was raised to high alert in anticipation of the release of the Senate's report on "enhanced interrorgation". However, things in Egypt have been quiet where we've been, and we've had a truly delightful time. Tahir (or Tahrir? Square) seems to open and close periodically, but other than traffic challenges, no feelings of any personal risk.
