Today we went up to the highlands to have lunch and view giant tortoises in the wild. Our driver, Carlos, didn't have much English, but we somehow managed to communicate with our "pidgin" Spanish (nothing but the present tense and we tend to mix up the proper genders). We didn't actually eat lunch with the tortoises. We had lunch, then donned rubber boots (very muddy up there) and wandered through the area where the tortoises roam free. Some of them were also eating lunch.
